Book Review: "Where the Falcon Flies"

Canadian adventurer and storyteller Adam Shoalts had glimpsed falcons on previous solo journeys, but a long look at a majestic peregrine falcon near his home on Lake Erie prompted him to follow the falcons to their nesting grounds in Canada’s northern mountains.

​As he canoes east through Lakes Erie and Ontario, he faces thunderstorms, commercial freighter traffic, and portages without trails. As he hikes north, bears and wolves stalk him while he struggles to move fast enough to complete his trek through Canada’s vast wilderness before winter sets in.

​His extraordinary adventures, rich in history, archeology, geography, birdwatching, and environmental insights, have earned him a position as Explorer-in-Residence of the Royal Canadian Geographical society.
