Get a Head Start on the 2025 Reading List

As a former library collection development manager, I still scour libraries for new works by popular and/or award-winning authors. Here in Arizona I use a scenic branch library—Maricopa County’s White Tanks branch—nestled at the foot of a small mountain range. In Minnesota, I am a regular at the St. Anthony Park library.
 
Recently both of them have begun offering free copies of the monthly Book Page to library users. Each issue is about 30 pages chocked full of reviews about forthcoming notable books.

​After scanning the January 2025 issue, I was thrilled to see mentioned a new book by Robert Crais. If you like detective novels, you’ll be happy to see that the author has written another installment in the Elvis Cole/Joe Pike series, The Big Empty. (Coffman has four books in this series: numbers 1, 6, 17 and 19.)
 
Other authors with new books scheduled to appear in the first half of 2025 are Carl Hiaasen, S.A. Cosby, Han Kang, Fiona Davis and Joseph Finder.
