Intimidated by Tomes?

I’m guilty.  However, confronted with 14 days of social isolation after returning from Arizona, I cracked the covers of my copy of Edward Rutherfurd’s New York.  It’s page-turning historical fiction about New York City, beginning with early Dutch settlers and their relations with various Algonquin-speaking tribes. 
 
If you haven’t read any of Rutherfurd give Russka a try.  Again – historical fiction, this time covering 1,800 years of Russian history.   Some readers struggle 

with the first chapter.  Don’t give up.  The Coffman Library owns a copy. 
 
And if you haven’t read Hilary Mantel’s Wolf Hall trilogy the Coffman Library owns all three volumes including the recently published The Mirror and the Light.  The first two were award winners.  Refuse to let 600-700-page volumes about Tudor England intimidate you.
